This tent replaced a Spartan Sports "Big Camper", and believe it or not, it's bigger! This tent is perfect for casual, fair weather camping, but it does not appear to be of a heavy enough material to be a winter tent. One man can put up this tent relatively easily...it's much faster with two. Once erected, it has room for 2 queen size or 3 full size air mattresses with room to spare, and being 6'2", it's great no to have to stoop either getting into the tent, or standing up in it. A great deal for the price I paid.

My family and I often camp for more than a week at a time, so a large comfortable living space is important especially with small children. This is what initially attracted us to this tent, but were we wrong.

The tent was made of very cheap and flimsy material. It had nice thick tarp-like floor, but the walls were thin. Just the tension of the tent poles put the sides under stress. The material was so thin and cheap that the dew leaked through and dripped on us sleeping. Lucky for us it didn't rain.

The poles themselves were two different types; the flexible fiberglass kind and the multi-part tubing joined with a spring-chain. 3 of the 6 poles that were supposed to be joined with a spring-chain had the spring chain pulled out with no real means to put them back together. None of tabs that snap these 6 poles together worked at all. At the top of the center pole there was bracket that was meant to hold a loop from the body of the tent. This bracket was bent on... We chose this tent mainly for the size at the price. (It was ~$130 when I purchased it.) For those of you who want to cut to the chase, I like this tent, but now seeing others out there in the same price range, I would probably choose a different one.

Why? Well...here's what I like and what I don't like.

~ It's huge. We had four twin mattresses (essentially two kings) in there with about 5 feet left between them in the middle. Previous reviewer is correct, sides do slope, but it's not bad for me. We had a couple feet ot spare at the ends of the air mattresses. We don't use the room dividers.

~ Pretty easy to set up. I have had this tent up and down about 6 times now and haven't had any problems. I'm a nearly 40-year-old woman and I can do it by myself in about 10 or 15 minutes. I do see what others have said about the sides getting tight if not on prefectly flat land, but I have found that as long as I set the tent "with the slope", it's fine... Read more
